My name is Matt Kinvig. I created A277.ca because I've seen what happens when remote communities are forced into construction methods that weren't designed for where they live.
I've coordinated the movement of repurposed homes to Indigenous communities across BC — managing logistics, community relationships, regulatory requirements, and everything in between. The problem was never the communities' needs or budgets. The problem was the method.
Traditional site-built construction in remote locations is expensive, unpredictable, and punishing when things go wrong. And in remote BC, things go wrong.
Factory-built construction removes most of those variables. The home is built in a controlled environment, inspected during production, and delivered when it's done. The site disruption is brief. The price is fixed. The documentation is complete.
I built A277 to make this method more accessible — specifically for remote and Indigenous communities in BC who have real housing needs and deserve a procurement process that works.
I'm not a manufacturer. I don't have a product to sell you. I have supplier relationships, procurement experience, and a process that removes the risk that makes remote construction so difficult.
Every project starts with a conversation about your situation — where you're building, what you need, what your timeline looks like, and how you're funded. I ask the questions most suppliers don't think to ask, because access, weather windows, and regulatory requirements in remote BC are not standard problems.
If factory-built is the right fit, I'll tell you exactly what the process looks like for your location and connect you with the right manufacturer. If it isn't, I'll tell you that too.
I work with a small number of projects at a time. That's intentional. Every file gets my direct attention.
